Biography

I am originally from Southern California, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Economics. I did some graduate work in Environmental Studies before deciding to get a teaching credential. I taught there for several years before moving to Utah 16 years ago. I have lived here in The Ranches for the last 15 years. I love it here and feel very lucky to be teaching children in my own community.

I really love teaching 5th grade at The Ranches Academy. I have taught many different grades and especially enjoy the upper grades. I enjoy the abilities, challenges, and wit that come with the older elementary children. I know we are going to have a rewarding year and I am excited to get to know your children. I have been married for 27 years and have 1 son and 3 daughters and 1 granddaughter. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, motorcycle riding, gardening, geocaching, and beekeeping. I also like to read and watch movies even though I don’t see as many as I used to.

Mr. Fewkes has a level 2 teaching license and has met the requirements to be a highly qualified educator.
