Photo Club

Photo Club

Registration is open to Grades 5-6. This club is capped at 18 students. They will work in groups of three to foster teamwork and creativity.

Photo Club is an introduction to digital photography and photo enhancements. We will start by learning how a camera works then we will dive into a few photographic projects. The students will learn and practice Landscape, Still Life, Portrait, and Macro photography. They will learn basic enhancement techniques using the Preview application on Apple computers, and they will learn to print good quality photos. Students will walk around the neighborhoods near Ranches Academy, accompanied by Ms. Hamill, to photograph for the projects.

Due to the technology and supplies needed for this club, we will happily accept a $10 donation to help cover the costs. If you are unable to donate, this will not prevent your child from participating in the club. If you are able to donate more, we would greatly appreciate it. Donations can be made at the front office.

Photo club meets twice a week. Day one is for taking photos, and day two is for making enhancements and printing. Registered students must come both days (except in the case of illness and no-school days).

Photo Club will meet every Tuesday/Thursday from 3-4 pm

If your child participates in the Fall Photo Club, we ask that you DO NOT register them for Spring Photo Club. This will give other students the opportunity to participate.

Photo Club Rules and Expectations

Ms. Hamill expects everyone to pay attention, be nice, and do their best. Students interested should be outgoing, energetic, able to take direction, and of course, interested in photography.

After school dismissal at 2:45 students will meet Ms. Hamill by the Ranches sign outside in front of the school.

Ranches Academy Club Rules and Expectations

To allow an equal opportunity for all students to join a club, if your student signs up for a club he/she must attend. Students cannot sign up for multiple clubs that have more than one conflicting date. All students must be picked up on time when the club is over. If a student is picked up late more than one time, they may be removed from the club. Students are expected to use the manors they are taught to use in the classroom. Misbehavior may result in removal from the club.
