I’m Rosie Curtis, and I am thrilled to be teaching sixth grade at The Ranches Academy!
I’ve been a teacher since I graduated from Utah Valley University in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. After graduating, I taught first grade for seven years, before taking six years off to grow my family and be at home with my three children.
My children began attending The Ranches Academy and I would occasionally substitute, and I eventually became a part-time Intervention Specialist. This was where I really fell in love with the tight-knit Ranches community! The teachers, staff, students, and parents at Ranches are unmatched! The excitement to succeed is contagious!
I have wonderful memories of teachers from my past who made a huge impact on my life and helped me to love learning. I hope to have that same kind of impact on my students. I want my students to feel safe to try new and hard things, and that it’s okay to make mistakes as they continually strive for improvement.
When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my husband and three kids. We love being outdoors! We enjoy camping, 4-wheeling, geocaching, and going on RZR rides. I love crafting and I really love to bake. I'm pretty proud of my bread-making skills!
I can beat anyone at Name-That-Tune 90’s Country Edition, and I have a devastating weakness for warm brownies with ice cream and hot fudge!
